Your hair type is determined using two of your hair's main physically apparent attributes (this is for the Andre Walker hair typing system).
The first attribute is the extent of your curl, which can either be (straight, wavy, curly or possess kinks with zigs and zags).
The second attribute is the thickness of your hair. When we say thickness, we are talking about the average diameter of each fibre. The thickness of each fibre can be challenging to measure at home and is typically measured DIY style by comparing the thickness of a known material like a single piece of paper. A typical sheet of paper is about 100µm (100 microns or 0.1mm) thick.
