Get deeper insight into your client's hair health with our Cuticle Imaging Multiple Position Test

At HairKnowHow, we provide cutting-edge hair evaluation analysis services that help trichologists and hair clinics deliver more rigorous, professional, and visually impressive services to their clients.

Our latest service, the Cuticle Imaging Multiple Position Test, allows you to gain a deeper insight into your client's hair health by analysing up to one year of hair fibre data captured at ~4.5 monthly time intervals.

How it works

To perform the Cuticle Imaging Multiple Position Test, our team carefully measures and cuts your client's hair sample into discrete known lengths. We then take highly magnified, high-resolution images of the cuticle layer at up to four separate locations corresponding to different intervals of time.

This allows you to identify when a change occurred within the client's hair sample, enabling you to pinpoint potential causes of hair damage events or loss.

Hair Sample Requirements For This Test

How and where you take your client's hair sample depends on your client's hair and scalp presentation and what you would like to investigate.

If you would like images taken at other specific positions, please stipulate the distances from the root (up to 4 positions including the hair root and terminus) you would like the images to be taken on the order form and whether you wish to include the fibre terminus.

Suggested methods for collecting hair samples include:

  • The pull test - taken from across the scalp or a specific scalp area of interest

  • Removing the sample by cutting hair from a particular section of the scalp

  • Collecting hair using a clean brush or comb

For the Multi-Position Cuticle Imaging Test, we require 20 separate fibres. The length of all hair fibres must be at least as long as the longest image sampling position request, e.g. 15cm etc.

Please note: No specific sample preparation is required.
